Introduction
hey folks this is the first post for the weirdo/eclectic/experimental/schizophrenic music project from Albury/Wodonga Australia, Archaic Sun.
I originally set out, over come by a great magnetic feeling on the weekend of the Transit of Venus 2012 with no practical musical knowledge to start up my own folk-metal project.
over the past 2 years this project has morphed into a eclectic/experimental music project drawing inspiration from such diverse genres of music as Neofolk, Post-Punk, Post-Industrial, Post-Rock, Metal, Synth-Pop, Shoegaze, Trip-Hop and more.
At this point in time i am creating my sounds using very limited musical knowledge, an electric-acoustic guitar, a cheapo-shitty Casio keyboard, Sampling Pad, Microphone, Korg KP3, Jam-man Loop pedal and a shitload of guitar effects pedals.
this project will be my own artistic outlet for my interest in subjects such as Gnosticism, Esotericism, Christianity, Pagan Mythologies, World History, Psychology, Various Political Ideologies and the Decline and Fall of Civilizations (including our own) as well as my own personal thoughts and opinions.
In the next day or so i hope to post a link to YouTube with my first collection of recorded jam sessions and demo's "Via Aurora Luna" (my own bastardized psuedo-latin for "By the Light of the Moon" and yes i am aware that the more correct word for light is Lux but Aurora (Dawn) flows better).
if anyone in the local area is keen on a copy, just give me a yell and i'll burn you one as for everyone else i soon hope to have figured out what is the best way to distribute it for free over the net.
Remember though, this is a compilation of recorded jams and demo's there are a lot of mistakes, some of these jams (Such as 'Via Aurora Luna', 'Cherubic Drone' and 'Under the Eternal Sun') were things i pulled completely from thin air and i don't remember how i did them, but was lucky enough to have recorded them to share.
many of the demo's will be re-released in a more complete form on later Albums/Compilations.
